My DA* 16-50 arrived Friday. So far I've just snapped a few shots in the backyard. From what I've seen so far, I am a little concerned about large aperture performance at wide angle. But to know for sure, I will have to compare on a tripod against my DA 16-45, of which I apparently have a very good sample. It will be a while before I have time to do this.
