Hey Bill -

Yep - the skink was maybe 50 yards south of the dam. I was back there
today but it was 65 F, cloudy, an spitting rain - so no skinks.

I had mistakenly thought that these critters were blue tailed skinks,
but when I looked into it I found out that blue tailed skinks are found
far to the south of Michigan - these five lined skinks look a lot like
blue tails when they are young, but mature adults are just uniform
brown. So - there's m next assignment - find a mature adult...

I don't know how things have been on your side of the state, but these
last two weeks have brought about 5 inches of rain to the western part.
That old farmstead off 48th street is nothing but dragonflies on a warm
day now. I hope visit it tomorrow - I would not be surprised if the
rather dry marsh was now back to visible-water stages.

Regarding the Sigma 180 macro - ouch! Do you know what went wrong with it?

later -
