Those are some awesome shots.  I have to admit I've never seen a skink
lacking a blue tail either.  Perhaps the fully grown adults are too
smart to be seen...
Anyways, that skink is gorgeous and I love the way the texture of the
rock makes a such an awesome background, in fact, I have to wonder how
this looks in B&W with his stripes against that patchy rock.  I hope
you've recovered from your painful-sounding endeavor to photograph
this little guy!  But well worth it - again, some beautiful shots.
