Then you got cheated by the seller. Rechargeable D cells are now up to 5000mah to 15000mah (why are they still using milli-amp-hours when such capacities are better expressed in amp-hours?), no way you will get that out of a AA cell. You can by those collars to use AA or AAA cells in place of C or D cells however.
