By international treaty, those stickers have to be left on the equipment 
forever. If a sticker happens to fall off, the equipment must be disposed of 
in a safe manner, as there is no longer proof of inspection.
Sorry, I'm having one of my moods this morning.

Seriously, if you take the sticker off, a gentle cleaning of the area with a 
cloth dampened with a bit of rubbing alcohol should remove all traces of the 
glue, and that should be that.
