I suppose my reason for wanting to take it off is twofold: first, I  
have always thought that these stickers look goofy (and detract from  
the aesthetics of a nice camera), and, second, the inspection  
notification, in our day, would seem rather superfluous or  
irrelevant, as the camera is thirty-or-so years old (comparatively,  
evidence of a more recent inspection would seem pertinent).
