If you remove the sticker, the oval spot won't be there from any sort of fading, but instead from oxidation of the metal around where the sticker used to be. Once you remove the sticker and clean off any adhesive left behind, the color of that spot is what the camera metal used to look like overall. Once the sticker is gone, the spot will slowly oxidize to look like the rest of the camera, though it may not ever match perfectly (the rest of the camera has been exposed to grease and dirt, as well as oxygen). Some cleaning with rubbing alcohol will help remove grease and dirt from the darker areas, if you want to try to make the spot a little less conspicuous. I'd probably just leave the sticker on, though. If you ever want to sell the camera, it may not help if you've removed it.
