You can ask whatever you like for something. You may even find someone who wants it right now that will pay that price. Supply and demand do govern prices in the final analysis. However, I do find it strange when people bid things up on ebay when there is another just like it a few items down the list with a BIN of 1/2 of what they are bidding.
