Fastest labled shutter speed:  1/500th

Well, I didn't at the time. My H1a was my second 35mm camera back in the 
'60's. FYI, there is a detent where 1/1000th would be though it's not marked 
on the body, and I've used it somewhat with apparently correct exposure. I 
still use it in the evenings, around the beach sometimes. I seldom find 
myself above 1/500th now with any shot on any camera.

I've been shooting my H1a since before some on this list were born. It had 
it's shutter curtain repaired a few years back, but it's still going strong. 
No other 35mm feels the same in my hands.
