Unfortunately, I think you are right. I hoped that if
the mechanical part of the sensor was stuck, it might
just spring loose over a few hours. But no luck...

I pulled the batteries today - with the way the
weather is heading I probably won't be doing much
shooting.

Yep - at least I can get the sensor cleaned as well.
Timing wise, this is an OK time to send it in for
repair - I'll change over to the 6x7 for fall
landscapes in a few weeks, and after that snow
crystals are still *ist-d territory, since I need TTL
flash with a reverse mounted lens...
