Sorry for the late responses, I see you've gotten some answers already. I had to go to work today so I'm a little slow on the reply.
When I say it "works well", I mean that I generally get decently exposed pictures when I use the flash on my camera. In Auto Green or Red, the flash chooses the appropriate aperture. I sometimes change the shutter speed or aperture to get the exposure I want. I haven't used the manual modes on the flash because it's a bit out of my depth, sadly. I use no gear between the camera and flash. Pentax told me that this flash was ok with this body.
