-- [ From: Signature Sound * EMC.Ver #2.5.02 ] -- Hello all,
I have a Pentax ME Super. I know it is not the most revered Pentax but it is probably my oldest possession at around 22 years of age, and it has been all over the world with me, so I am rather fond of it. It has been astoundingly reliable and this despite never having any kind of preventative maintenance or servicing. However, I believe that the shutter mechanism is now in need of oiling. It seems to be over-exposing at the faster shutter speeds. Is this something I can do myself and if so, how and with what lubricant? If not, can anyone suggest a good camera repair company or individual somewhere close to New York City? Pentax say that they no longer support this model and none of their service centers will touch it, so if I can't do it myself, I need a talented independent. I don't want to trust this camera to someone who doesn't know what they are doing or just doesn't give a damn. Many thanks Francis.
