This sounds great. The eastern slope of the Sierra is wonderful. I did some hiking there in 1996 (around Big Pine). Too bad there is no sign of fall here (northern Virginia). Summer just refuses to die. It has been in the 90s here. When will the cooler weather finally arrive?...(I guess it is rather plain that I have northern blood).
