Tom, I picked up a couple of K1000 cases on ebay. Spotmatic and K1000 cases seem to be relatively plentiful. They're out there, just be patient. On the other hand, I'm finding a clean K2 case difficult to find. >Does anyone know what other K-series cases would fit a K1000? I have Spotmatic, K1000 and K2 cases. The Spotmatic and K1000 cases fit interchangeably on my K1000, KM and KX bodies. The K2 case only fits the K2 and K2DMD bodies. The K2's physical size is the same, but the threaded socket (tripod mount) is located in a different place. FYI... the Spotmatic case is a closer, form-fit over the lens, making it a bit more difficult to slip on and off over a larger 50mm lens. No problem on a 50mm f2; but it's snug on a 55mm f1.8, and really tight on a 50mm f1.4. The K1000 case has more interior volume and is easier to open/close over the lens. Hang in there and look for a clean K1000 case.
