I really liked my AF500FTZ, especially on the PZ-1p. Unfortunately it isn't a lot of use on the K10D (although it works as well as anything else on the *ist D), so I got a 540. I haven't used it much, partly because I was without it for a couple of months; on one of the rare occasions I did use it I got a couple of exposures, followed by a loud crackle-pop. At least it was still under warranty, so Pentax fixed it for me. But on the occasions where I did use it, it just plain worked.
