You don't pay much attention to the news because they report, er, news? They're not going to put baskets of kittens on the news are they? If you only want to look at pictures of dewy roses, strings of puppies, and babies dressed as bears there are plenty of opportunities for that too. It's just not news. <Dramatic music. Dan Rather's voice> Good evening. Here are tonight's headlines. Most things are the same as they were yesterday. New developments in the sweet shop story - a fresh delivery of Smarties has arrived. Prices unchanged. Reports are coming in of kindly behaviour from Boy Scouts. 2 elderly ladies, helped across the road by woggle-wearing lads with cheeky grins, said earlier tonight "They were so sweet and kind. Their mothers must be very proud of them". Calls for a police force, manned by PC Plod from Toytown, have been unanimously rejected by the town council. Said Mayor Gaily "There just isn't any crime - we don't need a police force". Financial news. Every currency is up against every other, and we're all making a profit. Plans to eliminate poverty have been shelved until there is some. Today's weather: it will be fluffy and nice. People who like lots of warm sunshine will get it, but there will be no pollen to give anyone hay fever. Those of you who like a brisk, chilly day - that's what you're in for. Goodnight.
