I know it is not the lens in object, but I use quite often the A 1.4x-S with my K 300/4 without problems and with good results. I must say that the AF 1.7x too allows nice results (I use it as a MF converter with this lens, though, because it's very hard to focus from a far subject to a closer one: you should manually correct the focus anyway so the advantage of the AF are lost).
