Mafud Sir, Who cares about Joe Sixpack and Jill Boxed White Wine? They use point-and-shoots and get Walgreens 4x6 prints made from them. THAT isn't "photorealistic quality" either!! I have to agree with you that consumer (small CCD) 3 megapixel cameras aren't there yet for larger prints--I print on letter-sized sheets and generally with a lot of white area. However, 3-megapixel cameras with larger CCDs are certainly there. My friend Michael Reichmann (www.luminous-landscape.com) has been shooting with a Canon D30 for several years now, and I have in my own collection several LARGE prints of his (larger than 11x14) that look superb. A photorealistic printer in this day and age costs $200-$300. The Epson C80, the Canon S600. Both capable of gorgeous output up on up to letter size sheets. Certainly large enough to replace Jack and Jill's drugstore 4x6's. I'm wondering if your experience of digital isn't a bit out of date.... --Mike - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
