If you pre-load your route into the GPS, you can have it do exactly what you're asking it to do. Unfortunately, doing a route like this requires a computer/software at this point to create it and upload it to the GPS unit. If you have a computer at your dispatch point, you may be able to do this. If not, laptop in the car is probably your best bet at this point. I'd suggest getting a Bluetooth adapter and bluetooth GPS unit if you do go the laptop route. One less wire to worry about. Also make sure the GPS you get will take an external antenna input, and put a magnetic antenna on the roof of the vehicle. Much more reliable satellite reception that way. If you're crafty, you can probably even fabricate up a vehicle mount for the laptop. If not, do a google search on "RAM Mounts" and they should have something that will work, and will be very rugged. Keep in mind also, that most laptops don't tolerate extremes of heat/cold very well, and you want to let them warm up/cool down somewhat before powering them on. Hard drives are especially sensitive to the temperature variations, as well as vibration. -Mat -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
