I'd put my money on the scan taking a few minutes and their computer 
taking an hour to display the file. :)

The Polaroid SprintScan 120 takes about two minutes to scan a 6x7 neg at 
4000dpi, I don't imagine that the Minolta is much slower than that.  
Unless it's a USB connection -- but still, that shouldn't take an hour.
