Hi, At 3:30am my girlfriend and I got up and headed in to the park across the road from our house. I grabbed my MX, FA*24/2, Tripod and some 100iso film, saw quite a few spectacular meteors that left greenish trails that lasted for quite some time and lots of just plain white ones. The clouds were patchy during this time, but then a heavy cover moved in. So we jumped in the car and drove to a clearer spot and watched them until the sun came up, these werent as good as the original ones we saw though. I would guess we got roughly one meteor per minute, with them sometimes coming in batches of 2 or 3.
Some of them were so bright you could see them through the clouds, there was also one that looked like it was heading towards us and then kind of bloomed into this large white glowing circle and then disipated. Was definately worth getting up for and something i will remember for a long time, i didnt get any good shots. Regards, Paul Jones - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
