I'm not sure how(*), but I succeeded to damage the (plastic) hood thread on my not-very-old da*50-135. at the top, near the white dot, the plastic 'ring' that goes around the lens is broken off for some milimeter, and has come loose in the direction of hood thread segment parallel to it. http://picasaweb.google.com/axelpics/DA50135Damage?authkey=bWRLowYvO0Y
(*) may have happened when I put camera+lens 'in' the (reversed) hood that was already in the bag - although, then I would expect damage to the outer (closest to the filter thread) hood thread parts, not to this more inner part. I'm curious whether similar has happened to others? I'm unsure whether to go throught the hassle of getting it repaired - attaching the hood still works fine (doubt whether guarantee covers this; the insurance I have for the photo equipment probably would, although while writing this I'm starting to wonder about some 'own risk').
