To everyone who responded to this thread. Thank you all for your input.. I think I will go for the Manfrotto 393 .. A wimberly is simply outside my budged plus my existing ball head serves me just fine except for the bigma. I guess getting a dedicated head for a long lens is the better option from a quality POV.
People seem to be able to use the 393 for monsters like the sigma 300-800 with good results so i guess the bigma should be a walk in the park for it.
