Christine, that's not only my home town, but as a child  before and 
partly during WW2 I  lived at what is now
the Best Western Inn of Chicago... and was then th St Clair apartment 
hotel... which was right near where you shot.
(Ohio Street a couple of blocks off Michigan).  back then Navy pier was 
"active".

I have to say though, that the photo is so "perfect" that it exemplifies 
what I dislike about digital images... nothing
to do with your framing or eye.. alas, I hate what has happened to my 
old neighborhood, too... that building in front
is particularly awful.    

I like the crane - it is symtomatic :)
