I also use the Pentax 1.7X AF adapter, and it works very well with this lens, as you wrote. The other AF converter I have used with this lens is the Kenko 1.5X AF (4 elements). It also works well, and the results are good, until you compare them with the photos taken with the Pentax 1.7X.
