Interestingly, it only seems to happen in the low rent area of the city (Macleans magazine calls it the worst neighbourhood in Canada), and the shoes are quite often obviously brand new. Ah well, when I was a kid, egging windows and snapping off car antennas was all the rage for the idiot children. At least this is fairly non destructive stupidity.
