Actually, you can get auto aperture on Sony/Minolta mount with a chipped adaptor, although I don't think anybody made such an adaptor. Alpha mount uses a mechanical aperture stop-down, but electronic communication of aperture info. It's essentially identical to aperture-ring-less FA J and DA lenses in function.
