The picture I posted that was shot at 6400 shows some banding, but I don't find it objectionable, considering the ISO it was shot at. I took a similar picture at ISO 3200 which shows very minimal banding in the deep shadow, but I'm thinking that in a print it wouldn't be noticable. As of this point, I haven't seen any under exposure issues myself ( bear in mind, I've shot less than 100 frames with the thing), but more importantly, none of the users on this forum have yet to have a complaint. I accept that Pentax AF isn't world class, Canon definitely wins the speed game, at four times the price. Anyway, check out one of the cameras that has been released to the public, your information is out of date, and invalid.
