Sigma is rated higher in resolution (3.1 vs. 2.5) but has a little more distortion (0.79% vs. 0.1%). The Sigma 14/2.8 EX is rated as good wide open as stopped down and the Tamron 14/3.5 is pretty close to that and just a little slower also. Kent Gittings
