If you're shooting RAW and converting in Adobe Camera RAW, you set the color 
space when you convert. I usually convert to Adobe 98. But when I resize for a 
web image, I change the color space to SRGB. In PSCS, you can do that in the 
mode menu. In PSCS 2 or3, convert color space is in the edit menu.
