Perhaps. However, I found in some subsequent tests that the focal point discrepancy is negligible in real world. Apparently the focus point increments are very small. Comparing 12, 18 and 24 mm wide open f4 shots for sharpness shows no significant difference. I think the DOF is so great at these lengths that the absolute focal points don't correspond so tightly as they do with longer lenses. Dont know why, but that seems to be the case.
