Well, it now carries the "DG" designation, so it's supposedly optimized for digital. Don't know if anyone's compared it to the earlier version. It's reputed to be excellent with the Sigma 1.4x teleconverter, which I have but rarely use (I bought it for my Sigma 300/2.8 but I usually end up using the Pentax 1.7x when I want to use a TC with that lens).
