One more "Tim doing things he can't" post :-)

I'm trying to rebuilt a puter with a SATA disk. For some odd reason it
does not detect the disk. The BIOS tells me (Not Detected). This is my
first time connecting a SATA drive, so I'm just fiddling around
looking for a way to connect the bits and pieces.

What I have done is to connect the drive to the motherboard with
something I beleave is a SATA cable. According to my little knowledge
this should do the trick. But it don't. Any ideas? Have I got it
completely wrong?

Any help is appreciated.
