My 1990 Range Rover expired in 2003, with a warped block.
It was going to cost more to fix it than the car would be worth.

That was the old aluminium V8, based originally on a Buick design.


The problem with a Range Rover is that, unlike the original Land
Rover, it's not all that easy to work on the vehicle yourself
(and even if you can, spare parts are unpleasantly expensive).
As I rarely got out of the repair shop with a bill under $1000
the total cost of ownership was far higher than most other cars.
