I'm really loving my new Sigma 180mm f/3.5 macro. The extra working
distance over a 100mm macro is wonderful and the images are really
sharp. In fact, I can't really see myself using my SMC-F 100/1.8 macro
much any more and I'm considering selling it off.

The half-stop difference in speed doesn't bother me (except in making me
break my vow never to get another prime slower than f/2.8!) The 180 is
much bigger and heavier than the 100, but the 100 is in fact big enough
that I almost never take it out hiking or in other situations in which I
need to travel light. So the size/weight factor, though significant, has
no practical effect.

I haven't seen any F or FA 100/2.8 macros on the market lately. Anyone
know what they're going for these days?
