I went to San Francisco yesterday. Spent a couple of hours at SF MOMA
enjoying the Lee Friedlander retrospective exhibition as well as the
several other photography exhibitions underway at present.

That was good but then I went to the First Thursday evening at 49
Geary gallery building. The Steven Wirtz Gallery had the opening
reception for Michael Kenna's latest, photos from Mont St. Michel and
New York. Stunning work: I could spend hours looking at his photos. I
had a few moments to chat with him and pressed him to produce a book
of the New York photos ... "someday in the future". It's just amazing
to see work of this calibre. If you have the opportunity, it's well
worth it to get to the city if only for this show.
