I dont know about you but I spend far more time conceptualizing
and choosing lens/composition and photographic position than I ever would
figuring out the exposure for about 99 percent of my photos..

It fluctuates rapidly enough to make trial and error or bracketing  
practically impossible, I think. And about unusual: that depends on where  
you live, I guess...
