His whole "pentax sponsorship" nonsense started a while back after being banned from a Canon forum. I think he hit every Pentax forum/group/list except this one looking for a shoulder to cry on. He got shot down pretty hard over at photodotnet. Rather funny thread, if you feel like digging for it.
I have no idea if Pentax really "sponsored" him. What I did hear from him was a constant drone about dinners and meetings and lunches with the folks from Pentax France (or Europe or whomever they are these days). He always knew about something coming down the pipe long before anyone else did, but he was so vague that it was impossible to tell if he really knew anything at all. For all I know he was just looking for some attention. The guys over at pentaxforums sure like him, though. I don't guess I was around during the Alan Chan era.
