I wouldn't expect much CA at the center of the frame anyway, it usually shows up at the edges and corners. I've never noticed any on the F 70-210, and I've owned two of them. On the other hand I don't go pixel peeping unless there's obvious degradation of a printed image to try to fix the problem.
