Hi, main reason for me to buy bulk film is that it is sometimes much cheaper. Ilford B&W film is getting considerably more and more expensive even if I buy a twenty-pack from wholesale (just two years ago, it cost HALF what it costs now!!! and no, we hadn't had 50% inflation <g>). A 17m roll (good for about 10 36-exp. films) costs me about ONE HALF to TWO THIRDS of the equivalent 10 films in canisters. That's considerable saving. My ISO 100 film (I use our domestic film Fomapan, I have found a perfect combo for it where it is as good as the ilford FP4+) costs me in bulk rolls 50% less! That's about 75 cents per 36 exp. film (or roughly 1.2 DM)...
The cost of a good bulk film loader will return quickly if you shoot enough B&W. (I don't think bulk loading colour film has much merits, unless you happen to get a seriously cheap bulk roll of it. at least here, bulk C41 is not much cheaper than in canisters) Good light, Frantisek Vlcek - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
