I bought a used copy a couple years ago on EvilBay for about $450 and thought I got a decent deal, but yours certainly beats that! I've enjoyed using it on my Pentax DSLRs but found that it tends to progressively underexpose when using TTL metering as I move to smaller apertures. That's not usually a problem because this lens requires a deliberative style of shooting, allowing one to check the histogram to confirm (and adjust) exposure. I'm not sure that it is all that much better than a normal image which has been Photoshopped to eliminate keystone distortion, although it should have an advantage in resolution because there are more pixels in the area which is stretched in a PS correction. I posted some examples here: http://www.pbase.com/jamesk8752/k28shift in case you are interested.
