Hi Dave ... The Pentax A 100/2.8 is a real jewel ... a joy to use, remarkably sharp, very nice bokeh based on a couple of tests. A little spendy, perhaps, when compared to the off-brands and slower, more plastic lenses, but, IMHO, worth every penny. Others may be satisfactory, but I've no experience with them. If you can, try a few and compare the results.
