When I quit using it, it was completely unpredictable. Each roll had a different ISO value, and that value was always much lower than 800, it seemed, or maybe the processing was variable. In any event, it easily produced underexposed machine prints which were really ugly grainy. Regular Gold 400 was by far a better film than Max 800 at the time. The current Fuji Superia 800 is also much better than max 800 was at the time I was using the Max 800. I've seen a couple of other posts about Max 800 describing the same problems I mentioned, which I believe were atributed to Max' inability to process evenly in standard C-41 machines. But I quit using it over two years ago, so maybe it has changed for the better since then. One recommendation: all the pro sports shooters I've met (all three of them) who were also Kodak Professional (or something) members, refused to use Max 800. The used Fuji 800 print film instead. -- John Mustarde - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. To unsubscribe, go to http://www.pdml.net and follow the directions.
