Jens,
I agree with Mark here.  It is a US$1,000+ lens in terms of quality
and full frame coverage.
Mark can do a better job of comparing it to the DA16-45/2.8 which he uses.
I've resisted buying the new lens as I have the older one and am quite happy.
Price would be an issue as the new DA16-45/2.8 is $1,100+ over here at B&H.
More for you I suspect...
