Over here, the K200D is massively overpriced. It's not a budget camera at all. I can get a Nikon D40 for under $450CDN, or a Sony A200 (which matches or exceeds the K200D in all regards except weather sealing) for $500 or less, both of those with their respective kit lenses but a K200D just dropped to $700, still $50 more than the A200 _Launched_ at.
Needless to say, nobody's buying K200D's in Canada. It's been a massive failure. And US pricing is WORSE for Pentax (K200D is $800 with $100 mail in rebate, A200 is $500). Pentax badly needs a competitive budget camera, every other maker has a better option right now (either less money or more features & performance AND less money). -Adam On Tue, Jul 8, 2008 at 7:37 AM, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Not much after PMA there was a 'rumour' that german Pentax fan forum users > met the german Pentax guys to test the K20D and they said there will be > two new Pentax cams at Photokina, one with 3 digits and one with 1 digits. > So K2D (since K1D existed as a prototype) is very probable and I hope the > 3 digit one is the 645D (remember PMA?
