My wife used the duckies as a fund-raising tool: "Pledge 50 bucks and you get a duck". The bike ride was a fund raiser for the MS Society. So everyone who pledged at least $50 towards her ride got a duck with their name on it, which rode with her through the trip. Now that we're home, she'll send those people their ducks along with a photo of the duck enjoying the ride. Cute idea.
