Further research (Boz's K-mount pages) informs me that there are two versions of M28/2.8. I wasn't aware of the early version. The later version is in fact the same optical formula as the A28/2.8, and has some similarities to A lenses unlike the early M lens which is has all the typical M features.
Although Boz states that the M version 2 was rare, it is the version described in the lens booklets that came with my ME Super when it was newly purchased, and is the reason I stated that M and A versions of 28/2.8 are optically identical. Scott should determine which lens he is referencing. Consult Boz is my advice. http://www.bdimitrov.de/kmp/lenses/primes/wide-angle/M28f2.8-i.html http://www.bdimitrov.de/kmp/lenses/primes/wide-angle/M28f2.8-ii.html http://www.bdimitrov.de/kmp/lenses/primes/wide-angle/A28f2.8.html There's an F version as well: http://www.bdimitrov.de/kmp/lenses/primes/wide-angle/F28f2.8.html regards, Anthony Farr > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of > Dario Bonazza > Sent: Thursday, 31 July 2008 4:39 PM > To: Pentax-Discuss Mail List > Subject: Re: M28/2.8 vs. A28/2.8 > > Anthony Farr wrote: > > > > I'm not Margaret, however.... > > Me neither. > > > Optically, these lenses will be the same formula. > > Sorry Anthony, but....
