Hi Ann We call them McMansions here too. In fact I almost called the PUG image "McMansions", but I wasn't sure whether it was a universally understood term. Glad you liked the image.
I can remember singing along to "Little Boxes". It's interesting the influence that Pete Seeger has had on music. I recently saw a DVD of Bruce Springsteen performing a host of songs that Seeger either wrote or performed. It was great stuff and I'm not really a Springsteen fan.
