I found it a great performer for what it was designed to do. Descent mode was simply astonishing when it comes to how steep an incline it could negotiate without even working hard. I miss my Freelander ... but I didn't use its special capabilities enough to warrant having it.
I get more than double the fuel economy and a lot more quiet with the Prius at one third the monthly costs of operation.
