I would translate it as follows:

"I haven't been doing photography very long, but my interest has
become intense, thanks to a friend who got me so passionately
involved. I have enjoyed photography for a long time, but never before
with such intensity as now.

One of my favourite subjects is night photography, but I am always
open to other styles."

It's not a literal translation, but it is natural English (although an
English person would play down the intensity and passion!).
